Joe's daughter came to visit for a couple of days while our grand daughter was involved in her High School Robotics Club in competition with many other Oregon and Washington Clubs at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum in the Rose Quarters.
We are wearing " Kangaroo Ears" because her club's name is Code Purple and their mascot is the Kangaroo.

We went for a ride a few days ago while the sun was shining..... to the Woodlawn, Washington area. It was a beautiful country drive.
Now for an update
Joe has a PET scan at OHSU tomorrow, April 12th at 11:00A.M. He was referred to Dr. Kevin Billingsly, a liver specialist/surgeon for a consult and that happened last Wed the 6th. He explained to us that Joe has three questionable lymph nodes. Two in his chest, one in the stomach area, thus the reason for the PET scan. The results from this along with reports from all his care Team Drs, which includes the primary care physician, gastroenterologist, the surgeon who did the colon resection, his oncologist and Dr Billingsly, will be presented to the Tumor Board. Dr Billingsly said it wouldn't be to Joe's advantage to do a liver resection if the lymph nodes are malignant. But there would be other options for his care. The waiting is difficult. We get the results on April 27th. In the mean time he is going to be kept busy. He has Chemo on Wednesday the 13th, goes home with his chemo pump which is disconnected Friday afternoon, then they give him a rehydration IV before he leaves and another one on Monday because he can't consume as much liquids as his Oncologist seems to think he should. By the following Tuesday he is usually feeling better.
I titled this blog "Waiting is difficult sometimes" and I'm sure I'm not alone in this area.Waiting for that red light to turn green, waiting for your meal in a restaurant, waiting for a Dr. who has patient overload and is running beind..... you know what I mean right? So I went to my Bible like I do a lot and started looking at what the Lord says about waiting..... and look what I found.
Psalms 27:13-14 I believe that I shall look upon the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living! Wait for the LORD; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the LORD!
Psalms 37:34 Wait for the LORD and keep his way, and he will exalt you to inherit the land; you will look on when the wicked are cut off.
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Isaiah 30:18 Therefore the LORD waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he exalts himself to show mercy to you. For the LORD is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.
Isaiah 40:31 but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Lamentations 3:25 The LORD is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him.
Micah 7:7 But as for me, I will look to the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.
Acts 1:4 And while staying with them he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father
At the beginning of this journey we asked the Lord for Courage, Strength, Peace and Comfort and He continues to grant those requests. But in HIS own time. When we were told how long it would take to get the results from the PET scan my first thoughts were "I just can't do this waiting thing anymore." But then I was reminded Isaiah 40:31 They who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. Yes, He gives me all the strength I need. I just need to continue to wait on Him, not for doctors schedules......
Thank all of you who continue to pray and wait with us. We feel so blessed to have you as our friends.
