October Travels, Part 2 A Visit to Yosemite

We stayed at Thousand Trails Yosemite Lakes  RV Resort in Groveland, CA for a few days while enjoying Yosemite. It is five miles from the entrance in to the park.  Fire damage from the latest wild fires there were very obvious.  I took these two pictures just a mile from where we were camping.
I have seen many beautiful pictures of Yosemite National Park.  But the one thing missing on our trip to Yosemite, was water falls. Everything was so dry.

Even so, there was so much beauty there while Joe was having fun taking pictures of this little deer
I was enjoying taking pictures of this beautiful tree and apparently a few other photographers were doing the same....

After we made the decision to go to Las Vegas, our next stop, via Tioga Pass to Highway 395, we decided to take a day trip to the summit to see how the road was going to be.
We found a beautiful place to pull of the road,

Took out our chairs and little table that we keep in the car and had ourselves a nice little picnic with beautiful scenery all around us.

After lunch, we journeyed on to the summit, turned around and came back and prepared for our trip over that same route the next morning. Only this time it would be with the motorhome, towing the car.
We both agreed, we should have kept on driving clear to 395 in the car the day before to see what the rest of the road was like...........The next few pictures show what we encountered along the way.

Fortunately we didn't meet any oncoming traffic there

But it was up and down what seemed like for ever until we got off that road! We both agreed never again. At least with the motor home.

Tomorrow,  Las Vegas, Lake Mead and Hoover Dam
