A Special Treat.... Camping at Clackamette Park in Oregon City

Joe has a horseshoe tournament this weekend at Clackamette Park here in Oregon City.  It's about ten minutes from our house.  I talked him in to camping at the Oregon City RV Park which is a part of Clackamette Park.  I love watching the river activity.

There is lots of activity on the Willamette

We took this jet boat ride last summer. It was not only fun, but the operator pointed out points of interest along the way. The ride starts from downtown Portland and goes close to Willamette Falls in Oregon City.

This fisherman wasn't having a good day. Not only did he not catch any fish, he couldn't get his truck started when he wanted to leave.

This is the Clackamas River and it dumps into the Willamette River. Thus the name of the Park....Clackamette Park.

Joe relaxing for a while after pitching in the horseshoe tournament all day. He likes to fish, but because he doesn't care to eat fish, he releases them back to the river. Oh, no catch today.

Is this my good side........

Or is this side better ?

This momma didn't care if I was taking her picture or not..  I was really smitten with that royal blue feather.

And it's horseshoe tournament time again. Pretty nice not to have to pitch in the rain this weekend.

Joe?.... oh, he was tied for first in his class, but lost the play off. So he placed 2nd.

My friend Rhonda hard at work as one of the statisticians.

And another statistician friend, Barb. These girls put all the numbers together and that isn't an easy job! I know I wouldn't want to do it. These pitchers come from all over Oregon, some from Washington and today I saw one from Idaho.

  2. How funny! We went and checked out that park last year. We thought with it being right on the river, we might want to stay there soemtime. However, we never made it back. Who knows what this year will bring.

  4. Betty I have to tell you how much I have enjoyed your blogs recently. You have some really great pictures and I enjoy your words too. I see you got one of the water front spots at Clackamette. We always enjoy that park and watching all the activity on the river.
