A Visit to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm in Woodburn, Oregon

Today we made our annual Trek to the tulip fields in Woodburn. The sun peeked through the clouds off and on but as ominous as the clouds looked it didn't "rain on our parade" The following pictures speak for themselves. So the comments will be few.

Our friend Ruth went with us today

Benches are strategically placed through out the fields for that special Kodak moment

If you are wondering about the umbrella..... her husband, a photographer, was up on the viewing platform and he wanted her to pose with it.....I thought it was rather ...dumb.... do you see anyone else with umbrella's . Farm machinery is placed out in the fields too for that picture taking moment.

Look close in the upper left hand corner of this picture.  A Pink John Deere Tractor.

This building houses the gift shop, the bulb ordering store, and a food court. On weekends There are many vendors, entertainers, activities for the kids and way to big of a crowd for us. We always try to go on a Thursday.

Joe is finishing up our order for this years bulbs. He didn't get as many because he says we are running out "property" They are all so beautiful it's hard to make that decision of which ones to buy

This was my favorite moment of the day! A mommy and Daddy put their little sweetheart in one shoe and her best friend/ puppy in the other one. You should have heard all the "Oooooos ad Awh's" I asked her if I could take her picture, and then everyone around us started taking their pictures of her too. She was the sunshine along with the beautiful tulips on a cloudy day.
Tomorrow morning we are doing a day trip to Long Beach, Washington to meet  Joe's daughter, hubby and grandkiddos who are doing a quick "overnighter".  Its a Groupon deal. I'm going to have to look in to that.

  1. How exciting. I've been to this tulip farm but the weather was miserable the day we were there. We need to try again.

  6. Looks wonderful! Sorry that it is so far away form us. I planted about 30 bulbs before we left for the winter. Not much to see here yet. And more snow and rain for the next two days...Ugh.
Sweet picture of the girl and dog in the "Klompen".
    Glad you had fun.

Sweet shot of the girl and dog in the "Klompen".
I have still to wait and see if any of the bulbs I planted will show flowers. More snow and rain is in the making...UGH.

  12. Groupons are great if you remember to use them :) The wooden shoes reminded me of our time in Holland and the tulip fields are so similar to the ones in Mt. Vernon, WA. Thanks for all the happy memories.
